Anakin Skywalker, "Padawan Learner" (ie: Jedi Apprentice) falls in love, something not allowed by the order. Meanwhile, a threat from beyond involves his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Senator (formerly Queen) Amidala, green Master Yoda, and the entire Galactic Republic. After adventures on Naboo, Tatooine, and Genosis, the Jedi are put into an arena in echoes of ancient Rome. Mace Windu and other troops arrive in the nick of time. Once freed, Yoda and the new Clone Troopers go to war. The film ends with the Dark Side gaining strength. It is revealed the events of the film happened to get plans for a new battle station to the mysterious Darth Sidious. Meanwhile, Anakin continues his personal struggle, as he secretly marries the woman who will bear his children....

Goofs:
Revealing mistakes: When Anakin and Padme arrive on Geonosis they enter the underground factories. A steel door opens above them and Padme ducks to enter. However when Anakin follows he does not duck enough and his head passes through the digitally created metal door. (more)

Trivia:
C-3PO Anthony Daniels was originally to have made his first appearance still in skeletal form. In post-production, George Lucas decided to have C-3PO be complete throughout the film. (more)
