The space family Robinson in back in this 1997 remake. William Hurt and Mimi Rogers star as Professor John and Dr. Maureen Robinson, who set off with their family on a mission to find a new planet for the population of a polluted Earth to move to. Gary Oldman takes over the role as the evil Dr. Smith. Look for cameos from the original cast, including Dick Tuckfeld. Who's that you ask? A hint: "Danger, Danger Will Robinson!"...

Trivia:
Despite opening in theaters on April 3, "Lost in Space" was the first new film of 1998 to open at #1 at the box office. This was due to the incredible 15-week reign of Titanic (1997) at the top spot, which began in late December. Since it finally knocked "Titanic" out of the #1 spot on the box office charts, for a short time after its release the movie was given the nickname "The Iceberg". (more)
