The Pirates are back for their third adventure. Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) have joined forces with Captain Barbosa (Geoffrey Rush), who has been brought back from the dead to help them rescue Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) from Davy Jones' locker. Along the way they will discover that the only way to defeat Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) and his Flying Dutchman is to stab his heart, and replace it with your own, for they say that the Flying Dutchman must always have a captain. First they must retrieve the navigational chart to World's End from Sao Feng (Chow Yun-fat) the Singapore pirate lord. Then when they rescue Jack they must find a way to defeat Davy Jones and restore order to the seas....

Goofs:
Continuity: Just after the Black Pearl has just been dragged into the sea from the sand there is a mooring line attached to the bow of the ship. It disappears and reappears in several scenes after that. (more)

Trivia:
The cast and crew filmed off of the coast of Southern California in the South Bay Area around the last week of August 2006. The Black Pearl could be seen sailing to and from port from the Palos Verdes Estates and Redondo Beach pier. The stars of the film would take time off from shooting to meet fans and sign autographs.
