In “Speedway,” a film with a few tunes, Steve Grayson (Elvis Presley) is a race-car driver with a poor sense of business. So, his best friend and manager (Bill Bixby) takes care of that end, but the manager is secretly spending the winnings on his own debauched interests, like betting on horses and supporting a playboy lifestyle. Steve gives away the remainder of the money to poor friends and children in need. As a result, the IRS sends its agent (Nancy Sinatra) to make a report on what is happening to the tax money. After a few songs and a few incidents observed by the tax collector, Steve and the IRS agent hit it off as she recognizes his golden heart. Steve also learns whom he should trust in his life. All comes to a climactic headway at the Big Race at the Charlotte Raceway....
