“Frankie and Johnny” is a musical based on the song of the same name. Frankie (Donna Douglas) and Johnny (Elvis Presley) are singers on a riverboat, as well as lovers. Frankie won’t marry Johnny until he quits gambling and losing all his money. Johnny’s friend, Cully (Harry Morgan) writes a song called “Frankie and Johnny”. A music publisher hears it and wants to bring Frankie and Johnny to New York to perform. Johnny wants to make enough money to take Frankie to New York and get their big break. Of course, he tries to make it gambling. At this point, is told by a fortune-teller that luck will come to him if he is with a redhead. Unfortunately, Frankie is a blonde. Of course, a redhead does come on the scene, much to the chagrin of Frankie, who gets very jealous, but in a comedy of errors involving a masked ball, love finds a way....

Frankie: Now you've got helpers. Can't you lose fast enough alone?
Johnny: [Frankie starts walking away mad] Hey, where are you going?
