Lucky Jackson (Elvis Presley) wins enough money gambling in Las Vegas to enter his race car in the Las Vegas Grand Prix. But while romancing the swimming pool manager Rusty Martin (Ann-Margaret) the money falls out of his pocket and he is forced to work for the hotel he was staying in to pay off his bill. After hearing about other drivers crashing their cars in the race, Rusty decides racing is too dangerous and doesn't want to be involved with a race car driver. With help and hindrance from fellow racer Count Elmo Mancini (Cesare Danova) Lucky must try to win his girl and the race....
