Jailhouse Rock sees one man’s struggle with fame and fortune. Vince Everett (Elvis Presley) has committed a heinous crime and is sentenced to jail for up to one year for manslaughter due to a bar fight in which he didn‘t start. During his prison sentence, Everett learns all about the record business from his prison-mate, Hunk Houghton (Mickey Shaughnessy), a country western singer who is washed up in jail. When released, Everett begins playing in night clubs and bars. Everett eventually meets Peggy Van Alden (Judy Tyler) who signs Everett to a small record label. Once his career begins to take off, Everett begins to forget all the people who helped him reach his new height of good fortune....
