Claire, a middle-aged housewife who used to be a concert cellist, has just sent her only daughter off to college and is starting to exhibit signs of an emotional breakdown. Her husband Norman, a college professor, is quite worried about her. Claire says that she is experiencing supernatural phenomena in the house, including hearing voices, finding things moved from where she left them, and seeing a strange woman's reflection in the mysteriously filled bathtub. After experiencing increasingly scary phenomena around the house, Claire decides that the ghost of a murdered person is trying to contact her to tell her something and she must get to the bottom of who the person was, why she was murdered, and the identity of her killer.... |

Goofs: Continuity: When Claire crawls to the stairs toward the end of the movie, there is an upset lamp, which is lit, on the stair landing; however, the electrical outlet on the landing has no cord plugged into it. (more) Trivia: There is a scene in the trailer in which Claire is looking at a photograph and notices a ghost face in the window. This scene never appears in the movie.
