Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is back in this successful third sequel to the original Rocky movie. When Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) agrees to fight a huge Soviet boxer named Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), Rocky reluctantly agrees to help him train for the match. During the fight Apollo is badly outmatched and wants to end the fight, but Rocky refuses to let him throw in the towel, leading to Apollo's death in the second round of the fight. Feeling grief-stricken, as he feels that Apollo's death is his fault, he determines to fight Drago himself for revenge on his friend's death. The match is set and takes place on December 25 in Moscow, with the crowd heartily cheering Drago and booing Rocky. With characteristic energy and scrappiness Rocky must attempt to avenge his friend and make his way through one of the toughest fights of his life....
