What is it about John McClane and the holidays?! Here it is, Christmas Eve, and McClane (Bruce Willis, returning to his iconic film role) is off-duty in the nation's capital. But a team of terrorists, in town to rescue a drug lord from justice, has taken over a major international airport, holding thousands of travelers hostage. Amidst a blinding blizzard, McClane must race against time to defeat the terrorists and their murderous leader (William Sadler). And if that's not a big enough lump of coal in his stocking, he's also contending with an inept airport police chief (Dennis Franz), the stubborn head of the army's anti-terrorist squad, and the knowledge that his wife (Bonnie Bedelia) is trapped in a plane desperately low on fuel, circling overhead!... |

Goofs: Audio/visual unsynchronized: During the scene with McClane in the tower talking to the Air Traffic Controller and the Police Chief, there is an obvious overdub in TV versions with a completely separate voice and obvious audio/visual mismatch. (more) Trivia: The music heard in the film's theatrical trailer is "Ode to Joy" from Ludwig van Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, which is heard throughout the first Die Hard (1988) film in Michael Kamen's score. (more) Filming Locations: Alpena, Michigan, USA (more) Quotes: Samantha Coleman: You give me this story and I'll have your baby. John McClane: Not the kind of ride I'm looking for. (more) Awards: 1 win & 1 nomination (more)
