Max Payne (Mark Wahlberg) is a detective assigned to the cold case department after the murder of his wife and baby. Three years after their deaths, he spends his days trying to track down the last killer that got away. When a beautiful, mysterious woman is murdered outside his apartment, Payne finds himself working with her sister (Mila Kunis) to find the killer. But when his former partner (Donal Logue) is killed, and Internal Affairs officer Jim Bravura (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) begins looking into Payne’s involvement, it becomes very personal. Now, with the police, FBI and a shadowy criminal group dogging his trail, Max has to find the killer before they find him. Based on the video game, the movie is dark and violent... |

Goofs: Factual errors: As Max Payne is shown putting individual cartridges into his shotgun towards the end of the movie, he continues to fire the weapon into the next scene. The type of pump-shotgun he is yielding requires the operator to manually pump the foregrip to cock the gun, though Max never does so. (more) Trivia: The role of Jason Colvin was originally offered to Tobey Maguire. (more) Filming Locations: Bay Station - 64 Bloor Street West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada (more) Quotes: [ first lines] Max Payne: I don't believe in Heaven. I believe in Pain. I believe in Fear. I believe in Death. (more)
