The Story That Won't Go Away

JFK, Oliver Stone's powerful film about the shots heard round the world and the mystery that still surrounds them is one of the most provocative movies of our time. In addition to its box-office success, critical acclaim and awards, it played a major role in the national debate that led to the passage of the 1992 Assassination Materials Disclosure Act.
For this exclusive DVD edition, Stone has added 17 minutes of footage to the Academy Award-winning movie, lending new excitement to the mosaic of Jim Garrison's turbulent investigation of John F. Kennedy's murder....

Notes
Goofs:
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): During his closing argument Jim Garrison misspeaks the famous phrase, "Of the people, by the people, and for the people." He instead says, "Of the people, for the people, and by the people." (more)

Trivia:
Those are real tears choking up Kevin Costner as he makes his closing summation as Jim Garrison. The weight of what he was saying meant the actor became emotional although the speech was not scripted that way. (more)

Filming Locations:
Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, USA (more)

Quotes:
Jim Garrison: Treason doth never prosper, wrote an English poet. What's the reason? Well if it prospers none dare call it treason. (more)
