Hoke Colburn sits in the front seat with his hands on the steering wheel, but the driver's seat is behind him. That's where Miss Daisy sits. She doesn't want a chauffeur and she won't give in. And neither will Hoke. For two people so different, they have a lot in common. And the bumpy road they travel ultimately leads to the friendship of a lifetime....

Notes
Goofs:
Factual errors: In the very early scene where Miss Daisy is inside starting her car it is a 1949-1953 Chrysler. The car shown backing over the wall from the outside is a 1946-1948 Chrysler. (more)

Trivia:
In the scenes involving the black 4 door Cadillac sedan, the director uses both a 1955 and a 1956 Cadillac. The cars' exteriors are identical except for the rear exhaust fender flare on the '56. The rear fender on the '55 is flat. (more)

Quotes:
Boolie Werthan: What I need is for somebody to drive my mother around
Hoke Colburn: Well, if you don' mind my askin', sir, how come she's not hirin' for herself?
Boolie Werthan: See, it's kind of a delicate situation.
Hoke Colburn: Oh, yessir, yessir... done gone around the bend a little bit. Well, now, that'll happen as they get old...
Boolie Werthan: Oh, no, she's all there. Too-much-there is the problem!
