It is time for Nemo to head to school and his father has brought him to the "bus" stop. He is playing with his friends near the edge of the dropoff when his father tearfully reminds him of its dangers. Nemo's mother was killed here in order to save Nemo from predators. In defiance of his father, Nemo swims over the dropoff to see the boat that is far above him. He is captured and taken away. Nemo's father, Marlin, is desperate to find his son, and enlists the help of Dory to find him. Dory and Marlin travel the ocean in search of Nemo and have a great number of adventures before eventually being reunited with him....

Notes
Goofs:
Continuity: When Nemo first enters the tank and he has been introduced to everyone, Peach (the starfish) says, "We have got a live one", the first time her face is pressed against the glass so no one can hear her. But in the next shot when she says "Root canal, and by the looks of those X-rays, it's not going to be pretty." her face is pressed against the glass again and everyone seems to hear her. (more)

Trivia:
The group of fish making impressions sing a snatch of song as they make an impression of a boat firing its cannons; "I've a whale of a tale to tell...” This song was originally sung by Kirk Douglas in the Disney production 20000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), which features a character named Captain Nemo. Marlin: So, Coral, when you said you wanted an ocean view, you didn't think you were going to get the whole ocean, did you? Huh?
[deep breath]
Marlin: Oh, yeah. A fish can breathe out here. Did your man deliver, or did he deliver?
