Several years ago Liam Case (Cuba Gooding Jr.) rescued a young girl from a burning car crash, receiving a disfiguring scar in the process, and was hailed as a hero. But today, fame having long since left him for fresher stories, he has become a garbage man and lapsed into alcoholism. That is until he takes a bullet failing to protect a teller in the crossfire of a bank robbery. Swearing vengeance against the thieves who shot him and the teller, Case hunts them down and murders them. Pursued by Police Detective Terry Subcott (Ray Liotta) as a vigilante, Case battles the gang of criminals led by Derek (Tommy Flanagan) and the McGraw Brothers (Kim Coates, Steven Kozlowski) who are bent on retribution for Case's slaying of their bank-robbing compatriots....
